Darren and Amanda are both fans and guests of the Liveaboard Sailing Podcast. In fact, I am highly grateful to them because they were my first podcast guests! Not only were they the first people I interviewed, they were the the first guests I reached out to – quite literally asking them to be on a podcast that didn’t yet exist or have a name. And they said yes!
Later on, I asked them to come back to the show for 1-year anniversary of the podcast and to recap how they had gone from their Amel Sharki 39 to Neel 45 trimaran and crossed oceans multiple times in the process. You can listen to their stories in the following episodes:
Season 1, episode 1: The reality of liveaboard sailing: epic adventures and sleepless nights
Season 3, episode 18: One year catch up: Lifeaboard lifestyle turned into a business
Outer Passage offers unique voyages aboard a performance multihull for those seeking experiences in offshore sailing and liveaboard cruising life. Not every trip is an offshore sailing endeavour, though. For example my partner Adam and I went sailing with Outer Passage in Maine, and it was such a delight island hopping in this beautiful region. It was an unforgettable blend of sailing, hiking, swimming and exploring. After having been boat shopping for months without any luck, it was the perfect (and much needed) reminder to keep going because adventures like this could be our everyday life, too.
Darren and Amanda believed in my podcast idea, and I whole heartedly believe in their business idea and am excited to share it with all who listen to the podcast. So if you’ve been wondering about the liveaboard life, go out there and test it for yourself!
